When I first started doing digital art, everything was done in MS Paint. if it was drawing, I just used the paint bucket to do a make shift shading. Since this was years ago ( I was using Win98, and it was still new at the time) its safe to assume that it was fairly time consuming. So mostly I just made sprite hoaxes and the like.
Well, as time moved on, I got a hold of Illustrator and Photoshop, so I could make smooth lines and color them goo too; MS Paint became very obsolete! And then I got my tablet, and so I don't even use Illustrator that often anymore (only when I want lines so super sharp that your finger will bleed if you touch them).
At the moment I'm working on a picture that has been taking me all day up until now, and probably will take me just a few more days. I decided to take a break, and so I went looking through some old pictures to reminisce. The scroll button on my mouse keeps trying to right click, so I accidentally clicked "edit" and it opened Paint. I figured that, since I had my tablet now, drawing would be easier. The end result of that thought process led me here!
This (to me) shows how far I've come since those older days, as well as pays homage to how I started off. I hope other artists get inspired by this to open up MS Paint and just fool around!
Yeah, its got the potential to be super spiffy. So why did they have to make it so damned hard to find?

Thanks! I was just looking at it, and I noticed that blue Sonic's arms are a little bit thicker than Super Sonic's, so that upsetts me. But I was going for poses that were easy to draw but also that fit the particular forms, so its nice to hear compliments on them.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same.
